Faulty Design?
I have tried two Oster BLSTET-B Ice Shaving Blenders. The first one arrived in what appeared to be a previously opened Oster display box and never shaved ice. The impeller would spin without ice in the bowl, but as soon as impeller, ice and blade made contact the impeller would stop while the motor kept turning. The unit was returned and Amazon sent a replacement without any problems. The second unit arrived triple boxed in an Amazon box, an Oster shipping box and an Oster display box. This unit worked well and made good quality shaved ice for a couple of days, but it stopped working without warning. The impeller stopped spinning as soon as a piece of ice made contact with the blade while the motor kept running, just like the first unit. My best guess is that the teeth on a plastic gear are shearing off. I would check my hypothesis but the unit needs to go back to Amazon for a refund.

Great for Margaritas but takes a long time to make enough ice for daiquiri, great for price and won't take up the entire counter/bar.
