I have tried my best, in the past, to fry food such as chicken that comes out crispy on the outside, yet not scorched, and completely cooked and juicy on the inside. And no matter what I did, I just couldn't achieve those results. That is until to today.

I started frying a 5 lb cut up chicken using my favorite Paula Deen southern fried chicken recipe, and I have to say that it came out absolutely perfect. Light and Crispy on the outside (without any scalded parts) and juicy and completely cooked on the inside.

The fryer used just over a 48 oz bottle of oil, and I did have to do two batches to completely fry the 5 lb bird. The instructions warned that there may be some smoking, and odors the first time I used it, but there was none of that. All there was, was some steam coming out.

Clean up was very easy. Just let the basket soak for a few minutes and any extra crust will come off with a sponge. And the rest of it is just as easy to clean.

***** update! I just bought a second one as a gift for a friend!***This 2 liter deep fryer operates like a dream ! It reaches the perfect temperature for whatever your frying, and the results are wonderful! Crispy light outside....juicy and tender on the inside! It is a perfect size fryer for 2 to 4 people. It is VERY well built...solid and the lid and basket both fit perfectly. I looked and looked for a fryer that offers what this one does. It does exactly what it says it will! Don't let the reviewer who said he "some how got it for $15" he bought it used, folks....he must have and the seller didn't pack it well so it arrived banged up. My bet is that he couldn't return it to Amazon because they didn't sell it to him...a private party did. The fact that he posted a negative review to keep people like me from buying this fryer and enjoying it, is just how some people are. Ignore it....this is a beautiful, solid, perfect little fryer you will be very happy with! Enjoy

This is the best deep fryer I've used,yet.It fries catfish, shrimp, French fries, and sweet potato fries so perfectly. I love the lift basket, too. I was really impressed with the easy clean-up. The price is also very reasonable. Overall, if you are looking for a good, reliable, easy-to-clean deep fryer for home use, get this one. It shipped very fast, too. Thanks so much.
