Cooled the room exactly as expected for a unit in this price range
Do not know what other reviewers expected of a thirty-five dollar item, or maybe even how the quality control of these units might vary, but this fan fully met our expectations.
Our daughter went off to college two years ago and, as many colleges require, she had to live in the college dorm for the first two years. Of course, the dorms of the old institution that she is attending are not full of modern conveniences like central air conditioning, and resident are not allowed to have window a/c units installed... so what do you do? Well... a little heat is probably a good indoctrination for pampered 18 year olds, so we opted to help them (daughter and roommate) out a bit by sending them this fan.
Within a week of receipt we had notes of thanks from both kids saying that this inexpensive fan dropped the dorm room temperature by five or six degrees and also added air movement, and that was all that they needed. Now they have moved to an off campus house with a/c and...
